The region also has an extremely rich architectural heritage, a prime example being the medieval town of Crémieu.

Crémieu

This medieval town is not far from Lyons. Parts of its heritage that have remained intact are its ramparts, built during the Middle Ages, as well as other remains including a magnificent 15th-century market hall.

Brangues

Paul Claudel chose the village of Brangues as his residence in France, and then as his final resting place; he is buried at the chateau.

The chateau is only open to the public during the "Journées du Patrimoine" national heritage weekend every September.
